Amsterdam and Dammamm, flying mares and foals and our price matching policy

Wow, can't believe how long it has been since I last posted. We have had a very busy early Spring, shipping lots of horses to Europe and the Middle East. Horses went to Luxembourg last week. Next week we will be shipping a number of horses to Amsterdam and Luxembourg. The week after we will fly a beautiful group of mares to Dammam. And more flying out in May. Starting new quarantines this week for Amsterdam and Dammam and planning new shipments for Doha and Riyadh soon. We still have some spaces available to Doha and Riyadh, so contact us right away if you have a horse ready to ship. It is foaling season and so many beautiful babies are being born every day. I love this time of year! We have some client horses with foals at foot right now, and more that will be born at the ranch in the near future. Can't wait to see them! If you have a mare with a foal at foot, let us help you with their export. There is no minimum age for foals to fly. And, if there are two mares with young unweaned babies going to the same destination, quarantine and shipping is half price for each of the babies to Prestwick (Scotland), Luxembourg and any of the GCCs. We also want to remind you about our price matching policy. If you receive a lower quote from any other shipping company in the USA, we will match or beat their price. Contact us and let us now how we can help you. Give us a call at +210-861-0269 or drop us an email at ez2spot@hotmail.com. We would love to hear from you!

Full Service Comes Full Circle

We have had an especially satisfying shipment of horses to Saudi Arabia this weekend because the delivery of the horses signified coming full circle in two different ways. Not everyone knows that we offer services above and beyond those of an ordinary quarantine station. Let me tell you about this weekend's delivery. About six weeks ago one of our clients in Saudi Arabia who imports Thoroughbred horses for racing asked us to attend a sale in another state and evaluate some horses for him. Terry's lifetime of horsemanship (breeding, training and showing) and his formal equine sciences studies at Cal Poly University have given him the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to perform this service for our clients. We went to the sale, assessed the horses, sent him photos and detailed information about each one. We then attended the sale and bid on the horses for him. He purchased five beautiful, well-bred mares. We had taken our six horse trailer with us to the sale, so we personally loaded them up and hauled them back to EZ 2 Spot Ranch. We then took care of the quarantine and shipping and have now delivered his mares to him. It was such a privilege to help this client all the way through the process, from purchase to delivery. The sixth horse in this weekend's shipment was a colt who was born here at EZ 2 Spot Ranch. We have cared for his owner's Arabian mare here for the past five years, arranging everything from breeding contracts, shipping of semen, insemination of the mare, care for her throughout her pregnancy and providing foaling services, which includes imprint training and veterinary checkup after the birth. This year is a little different in that our client has been so happy with the foals that he decided to do embryo transfers. We arranged the breeding, took the mare to the breeding facility and oversaw the process on our client's behalf. Now the recipient mares are at EZ 2 Spot Ranch and we will provide foaling and imprint training services for the 2015 foal crop. And it is time to start the process again for 2016 babies. So delivering the colt was a great feeling of having come full circle again for this client. We love being able to help our clients and their horses in whatever they need, from choosing and purchasing horses and processing registration papers to breeding, board, foaling, imprint training or exercise and grooming. Just let us know what we can do for you! Be sure to visit our website at www.ez2spotranch.com and contact us when you have a question or a special need. We are here to provide service for you and your equine! And always remember - experience matters. We have been in the equine export business for more than 10 years and in the horse world for a lifetime. Put our knowledge and experience to work for you.

Experience Matters

Whether you are importing a mini to the EU, an Arabian to Saudi Arabia or a Thorougbred to India, choosing an export facility with the experience, knowledge and global connections to make your shipment go smoothly is a key element to having a stress-free experience for both humans and horses. EZ 2 Spot Ranch is that facility. Terry and I have been caring for and working with horses for a very long time - and we have been exporting equines from the USA to destinations all over the world for more than a decade. Terry's background in equine health and nutrition, breeding and in the show ring combined with Dianne's communication skills and attention to detail make us the ideal facility to help you with your export needs. We also have an on-call consulting veterinarian on staff. Dr. Charles T. Reagan is a retired USDA Port Veterinarian and he brings a wealth of knowledge to our program. Lyssa MacMillan's degree in biology and experience as a zookeeper adds an extra layer of professionalism and skill to our staff. Our world partners know how to handle everything on the arrival side, no matter where you are. We have colleagues who can help you with import permits, customs documents and all the other details involved in importing equines. And our day-to-day horse care staff have years of experience with a variety of types of horses. When your horse is at EZ 2 Spot Ranch, you can relax and know that everything is being handled with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism. Welcoming 2015!

Happy New Year to you all from all of us here at EZ 2 Spot Ranch. The weather is beautiful right now - warm and sunny - and we are looking forward to an exciting new year of shipping horses all over the world. We are currently gathering horses for our next shipments to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, India and the EU. Limited spaces are available in each group, so let us us know if you can use one and we will reserve it for you. You can fill out the contact form on our website, www.ez2spotranch.com, send us an email at ez2spot@hotmail.com, PM us on Facebook or give us a call at + 001 210 861 0269. We look forward to hearing from you. We are very happy to report that the situation with vesicular stomatitis was over here in Texas in October and restrictions on horses from Texas have been lifted almost everywhere. We are now shipping freely from Texas into the UAE and Kuwait and will be able to start new quarantine groups for Saudi Arabia here at our own facility starting in early March. Meanwhile, we are using an excellent veterinary facility out of state for our Saudi shipments. They do an amazing job of taking care of the horses and we have greatly appreciated our relationship with them! At this time of year we get a lot of inquiries about shipping pregnant mares. That is wonderful and we enjoy helping our clients with their 2-in-1 packages. Just be aware of the breeding dates and don't wait too long. Pregnant mares should not fly when they are more than 270 days past their last breeding date. If they are too far along to fly, we will be happy to provide foaling services for you here at the ranch and then fly the mare and baby together. Please contact us and let us know if you have any questions. And again, wishing each of you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year!

There is not enough space to thank each of you individually, but we want to say a big Thank You to all our friends for sharing your horses with us this year and to let you know how much we appreciate each and every one of you. We look forward to new and amazing adventures in 2015. Wishing you each a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Demystifying the ban on horses from TX

It seems that there has been a lot of confusion and misinformation going around about importing horses from Texas. I want to bring everyone up to date and explain the actual situation. There were several cases of Vesicular Stomatitis reported at various locations in the states of Texas and Colorado this past summer. Most countries in the world responded to this situation by requiring testing for Vesicular Stomatitis on all horses from anywhere in the United States. Horses from Texas have been shipping and are continuing to ship without difficulty to all countries in Europe, South and Central America - and to most countries in the Far East and Middle East. The only countries in Asia that have banned horses from Texas are Korea and Saudi Arabia. We have been shipping all along without difficulty to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain. Kuwait did ban horses from Texas for a period of time, but that ban has now been lifted, so we are shipping horses there today. If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to contact us at ez2spot@hotmail.com or by telephone at +2108610269. Our staff veterinarian, Dr. Charles T. Reagan or our staff biologist, Lyssa MacMillan, will be happy to talk with you about Vesicular Stomatitis.
